Nurturing Spirit Doula and Massage

As your therapist, I will tailor my techniques to meet your body’s specific needs. Therapeutic Massage can relax muscle tissue and increase circulation leading to decreased joint and nerve compression. This may assist in relieving chronic pain. Specific methods used may induce a relaxation response, lowering your heart rate, breathing rate, and blood pressure. Overall, this type of bodywork can help you to unplug from the stress of day-to-day life and gives your body the opportunity to recharge itself.

Therapeutic Massage

Prenatal massage is bodywork that focuses on the special needs of mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

Prenatal Massage

A rhythmic and systematic application of essential oils down the spine and on the feet to promote overall relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. This treatment focuses on meridian energy pathways while working with the central nervous system to ease stress management, enhance inflammation response, and provide a boost to the immune system.

Doula Prenatal Meeting

Have you hit a point in final days of your pregnancy where you're just over it all?! Feeling antsy to get things moving with your labor process?! Are you 39 weeks or beyond and having a healthy/normal pregnancy?

 The end of pregnancy can be filled with a myriad number of feelings and some of these can be overwhelming physically and emotionally. It can be challenging for the body to relax and feel safe enough for labor to progress. 

This massage is designed to reduce stress and anxiety while promoting uterine contractions. It combines full body neuromuscular massage work with reflexology, acupressure, and use of a specially crafted blend of essential oils designed to encourage uterine stimulation while supporting hormones and deep relaxation. 

The recommended time frame for this is 90 minutes to receive the full range of benefits however shorter sessions are available. 

There are no guarantees this will jumpstart labor. If the body, mind, and spirit are ready this CAN be enough to assist in feeling calmer and encouraging onset of labor within the hours to days following.

Labor Encouraging Massage

Giving birth and transitioning into this new role of parenthood is hard work! Your body and mind have been taxed to the max while you're likely under slept and hormonally charged. As you are adjusting to new positions with feeding and holding a newborn while battling swelling and structural recovery it can create uncomfortable aches and pains. 

Postpartum massage is considered safe following an uncomplicated vaginal birth as soon as mama is feeling up to it and cleared by a provider. In the event of a cesarean birth, it is generally advised to wait 4-6 weeks to allow incision to heal and blood volume to reduce.  

This massage is designed to be restorative, rejuvenating, and relaxing. The effects of this help to increase circulation, reduce stress hormones, and relax areas of muscular tension. As your therapist I will incorporate myofascial release, neuromuscular, and lymphatic techniques throughout this session to target your specific postpartum areas of tension and tenderness.

Postpartum Massage

Full body postpartum massage* with an additional 15 minutes dedicated to scalp massage. Postpartum hair loss can be a part of hormone rebalancing. Scalp massage can stimulate the scalp and encourages new hair growth. A relaxing blend of Rosemary, Tea Tree, and Lavender essential oils are used which assist calming the mind and body while in promoting hair growth when applied to the scalp. (All safe for topical use during breastfeeding)

Postpartum with Scalp Massage Add-On

An additional 15 minutes is added to this massage to focus on relieving scalp tension. This can be a great service for those who work a desk/computer job, or those suffering from chronic headaches due to toxic load, hormones, and/or upper cervical or occipital tension. A soothing blend of peppermint, tea tree, and rosemary oils is used to relieve tension and stimulate nerve endings.

There is intentional purpose with each item and in our time together you will also receive informative childbirth education.
